With all the energy that swells around the grounds and corridors of the old Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum there is no better place to host a themed event, get together a group of friends or work colleagues for dinner  at Sambells Bistro and  join the popular Ghost Tour afterwards.  We also welcome corporate, club, school groups and other large group enquiries which wish to stage an event with a twist.

Our recommendation is to join the early evening Black Cat Town Tour departing from the Beechworth Post Office (must be pre-booked) then enjoy dinner at your choice of venue before re-joining us later in the evening for one of our famous Beechworth Ghost Tours of the Mayday Hills Asylum.

Step back into a time when drunken brawls, murders and prostitution was just the way of life in the heart of Beechworth Town.  For many miners their dreams were never found, instead they met with a harsh life of hard work with little return, a corrupt policeforce and death at an early age.  16 murders occurred in Beechworth within the first six months of gold being discovered.  As your guide leads you through the streets and alleyways you will hear spine tingling stories of murders, ghosts, and the undesirables that once (or still?) called Beechworth home.  In this tour you will explore inside two of the oldest buildings in Beechworth, going deep into areas not open to the public, you will stand on the footsteps of history, here you will learn of murders, mayhem and madness on the goldfields in the 1800's.

*NEW* INVESTIGATION TOURS - Available every night except Friday night, minimum 5 people to run.

Join our guide Adrian for an investigation tour, this is a specialised tour with small groups of between 5 to a maximum of 10 people, tours must be pre-booked and are subject to availability.  This is the tour where you get to play with real ghost hunting equipment and search for hard evidence of the paranormal.  Soft shoes are required as well as an ability to be very quiet and nerves of steel!  Take home your own documentation and hopefully proof of something more...  Cameras are a must.  These tours will leave after the regular tour/s of the night, it is preferable for your group to be the only tour on site to minimise noise and disruption so it is best that they leave around 10 - 10.30pm but earlier tours can be arranged.  Tours go for two hours and cost $35 no concession available on this tour, investigation tours are not available on Friday nights and only available from 12.30am Saturday nights (/early Sunday morning).
